Ergonomics/HMI
Ergonomics/HMI is a specialist area within Semcon supporting all business areas. The group of some 20 persons has experience from assignments for a number of companies both within and outside the automotive sector, e.g. Volvo Cars Corporation, Volvo Bus, Volvo Trucks, BAE Systems Hägglunds, Electrolux, BT, Atlet, Bombardier, Atlas Copco. The offerings, with a duration span from weeks to several years, covers e.g. the areas listed below covering both physical ergonomics and HMI (Human Machine Interaction).
We also participate in research projects with our applied specialist knowledge and broad industry experience, keeping us in the front line of research within ergonomics and HMI thus enabling us to support the future challenges of our clients.

Mapping of user’s needs and desires. Evaluation of concepts with users during the development process
Competitors’ analysis
Analysis of the usability of competitor’s products, both in general and of specific details
Requirement specification & development
Methodology and creation of specifications and 3D models based on the user, project goals, standards and regulations
Concept development
Suggestions of solutions with high usability and good ergonomics
Analysis/Verification
Analysis and verification with mock-ups, prototypes and simulations together with users and expert groups. Objective and subjective measurements of readability, luminance contrast etc.
Ergonomics simulation
Analysis and verification of concepts and visualization of requirements using CAD, Delmia V5 Human
HMI development and Interface simulation
Visualization of concepts as interactive simulations which can be used for evaluations and verifications
Interface development
Development of complete components and systems together with other Semcon HMI competences
